If you know and love (the two go hand in hand) Walt Kelly’s classic comic strip Pogo, then by all means check out the new Official Pogo Website! It’s in the formative stages, but that’s often the best time to check out a web site, where you can watch it evolve and grow as new features are added! Then click on the links to the many established Pogo fan-sites to learn more about the denizens of the Okefenokee Swamp! If you don’t know Pogo, then you’re missing out on one of the great comic geniuses ever to grace the funny pages! Mr. Kelly’s critters entertained with a mixture of oddball lunacy and social relevance that was far, far ahead of his time! Don’t take my word for it, take a peek here! As a kid I loved Pogo because it was about the silliest thing in the newspaper. I was unaware/disinterested in my early teens in the deeper subtext of much of Mr. Kelly’s humor, but I absorbed it nonetheless!
